Home Improvements!

Here is a picture of our house! The first is the before and the second one is the after! Not really, but we have done so many home improvement projects over the last two plus years that we expect it to look like the second picture. It is really somewhere in between!
We live in the house that my husband grew up in. It is special because his parents had it built and now his dad has passed away. We also own surrounding land that his family once owned! My husband bought it before we were married, and once we decided to live in the East Texas area, we started fixing it up....ourselves!! We have replaced all the flooring, repainted everything, installed new appliances, refinished and hung cabinet doors in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room, painted, installed, and hung all new interior doors, and even more that I am too tired to think about. I feel like every week is a new project! Well, the project for this weekend was a new screen door for the front. My parents and my grandpa came down this weekend as well to help us do some things, plus they brought us a new lawn tractor. It is new to us, but my dad has had it for a few years! We have only had a push mower since we got married and that does not work well with 7 1/2 acres to mow! It doesn't even work well on the yard! We are going to love it, but yet...it required a project!
Saturday morning, my mom and I decided to do some shopping and leave the guys to the screen door project. When we came back seven hours later, the screen door was still in the box and there were some HUGE wooden doors in our garage! My Papa insisted that the shed that we planned to put the lawn tractor in needed locking doors and that took precidence over my screen door. Now, I can deal with that, but we live out in the boonies. No one comes to our house and it is likely that no one wants our stuff! But, by 8:45 that night, we had locking doors on our shed! They are beautiful!
So what about my screen door? Well, the men (my husband, my dad, and my grandpa) were sure that they could have it done in a 1/2 hour to an hour. The project started around 9:00am yesterday morning. And when my parents and my grandpa left to go home yesterday afternoon at 5:45pm, it was still not done! So much for half an hour! We would like to finish at least one project! Will they ever end??
