An Update

Well, I have been waiting to blog because I wanted to update some pictures, but my laptop is sick and I have no idea when it will be fixed so for now, words will have to do.

It is hard to believe that half of October is already gone. I am ready for Christmas and the truth is that it will be here before we know it. Since it has been a couple of months since I posted, let me catch you up on our lives.

On August 19, my hubby's brother had to be admitted into the hospital for a severe infection. It was a scary day, but also an exciting day. We took a test that morning and found out that we were four weeks pregnant. We kept it to ourselves until the doctor had confirmed it and on September 1, we started telling our family. My mother-in-law was staying with us so she was one of the first to know. I headed out that weekend for a wedding in Amarillo and was able to tell my family then. We are so excited to meet Baby P-Body and up until we started telling everyone, I felt great.

But since then, morning sickness has struck at all hours of the day, along with those other little joys of pregnancy like headaches, constipation, random cases of hiccups, lack of energy, food aversions, etc. Wow! Who would have thought that something currently the size of a peach could make you feel so bad. Luckily, my doctor has put me on medication for the nausea and as long as I take it on a pretty strict schedule, I am usually alright. I still have one episode of nausea a day, but after not keeping anything down for close to two weeks, I am relieved to have just one.

We went to the doctor on Sept. 18 and were able to see little P-Body and a very strong heartbeat. It was very neat to see and I wanted to post the pictures that we have, but until my computer is fixed, you will have to take my word for it. It was a relief to see something in there and to know that he or she is doing well. I go back today for just a regular checkup, but I am praying that they go ahead and schedule my next sonogram for the week of Thanksgiving so we can find out what the baby is before the holiday. We are anxious to know. So anxious that we decided to take an Intelligender test to see if it would give us a clue. The results are supposed to be 82% accurate. We took it this morning and it said that we are having a BOY! We are not going to paint the room or make any big decisions until we know for sure from our doctor, but it is fun to have an idea of what it might be.

Other that that (and is there really anything else) our months have consisted of visiting with family, preparing for hunting season, a weekend of dove hunting (hubby), a weekend of Canton (me), packing up some stuff for a possible garage sale, Sunday School party, Race for the Cure, dinner with friends, traveling for work, football games, and anything else that we can cram into our free time.

I promise that I will post more frequently and hopefully add pictures soon...
