Visiting Orphans

We both have a heart for missions and right now we feel that God is leading us to go to Fushun, Liaoning-China this summer to work with a group call Visiting Orphans. They are a non profit organization that was established to help the Church by visiting orphans and fulfilling the Biblical scripture in the book of James. James 1:27 says, "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."

This will be our first mission trip since we have been married, as well as our first mission trip together. We feel that this will help strengthen our Christian walk, our marriage, as well as our future family. We are still finding out information about the trip, but we do know that we will be working in a Philip Hayden foster home in Beijing as well as a Social Welfare Institution in Fushun. Keep checking back as I continue to blog and post information about the trip and the orphanage! In the meantime, please pray for the groups and individuals that are preparing for mission trips and check out Visiting Orphans for more information!
