Good-bye Garage Sale!

After a very long weekend of garage selling, we have a clutter free home and garage and lots of achy muscles!! Thanks to our friends Bobbie and John for allowing us to be a part of their garage sale and Bobbie's mom, Maw-Maw (as we now affectionately call her), for allowing us to use her yard! We started Wednesday night by picking up tables from our church and dropping them off at the garage sale locale! Thursday morning, I got up early and went over to Maw-Maw's and Bobbie and I tackled the boxes in the rain! The pouring rain!! We had a plan B in case Friday was just as bad, but God answered our prayers and at a very early hour (like 5:00am) we were moving tables up the hill for the garage sale with only a few drips to hinder us! Friday was packed with customers and we felt good about the day. Saturday was surprisingly slower, but we still made around $800 to go towards our trip! I will say that it was hard work, but having it with friends makes the time pass more quickly!

We are planning to have another one at the beginning of June, if our bodies can recover from this one quickly enough!

We also received several donations this week from our friends and family. Thanks to Mrs. Barbara and our friend Lori who donated items for us to sell in our garage sale! They went quickly and we really appreciate your help! Also, thank you to my Aunt Janie and Uncle Nolan, Mrs. Norma, our cousins Mark, Christina, and Savannah, our friends Angela, Michael, Rainey, and Madison, our friends Jo and Marshall, and Mrs. Mildred, my Sunday School teacher when I was five years old, for their donations. It is amazing to see God provide through so many of you! We love you all and appreciate your support of us and this trip! Also thank you to Jeff and Jill and their kids for the huge donation of baby blankets, socks, and shoes! You guys are the greatest! Also, to the members of my parents' Sunday School class...thank you for your loving donations and for sponsoring us for this trip! You are all like an extended family to us!

My husband and I talked about God's grace to us during this time. I cannot tell you how incredible it has been. People that we have not talked to in a long time are hearing about our trip and donating items and money towards it. The outpouring has been incredible and we know that it can only be God! We know that we are in His will and we know that He has much in store for this trip! Thank you all again for your help and we know that God will bless your giving!
