Our "New" Old House

When my husband and I were dating, l lived in a brand new house. We were four hours apart and he was living in the house he grew up in. I moved not long after we got engaged into the house that we thought that we start our new life together in. It also was a brand new house and at that point, we were still three hours apart. He bought the house that he grew up in during the time we were dating and we started fixing it up to sell again. His dad, who passed away when he was seven, was the one who built and designed the house. It sits on seven and a half acres outside a small town and had little upgrades since it was built in 1969. I decided right before we married that I would rather him keep the house and us fix it up than for him to give up his good job and move into my house. So the journey began to make the house in "our home". It is around 2200 square feet and we have 26 acres total that we own. I have grown to love living in the boonies and look forward to my kids playing outside where their dad played and growing up in his old bedroom. He was lacking in furniture, but I had plenty to fill it up. Until Thanksgiving, the living room furniture was what I brought with me into the marriage. The day after Thanksgiving we hit the black Friday sales and bought a new TV which turned into the need for different furniture to house it! Here is our NEW living room!!!

Here is our new TV and the piece I found at Canton to put it on! I fell in love with this piece, before we even decided on the TV, because I did not want something ordinary! The best part was the day that I found it and had decided to come back a couple of days later to pick it up, I got a 30% off coupon in the mail! It was worth it!!

Here is the new couch and ottoman/coffee table! I love the curve shape!!

Here is my hubby's new chair! He loves that it is a recliner! Dekker says hi!!

Mom and Dad got us this cute little chair for Christmas to go with the new living room!

Here is kind of a full view from the entry way!

And I added this saying when you walk in the front door! I love these wall words! Hope you like the updates! Not too bad for a 60 year old house!!
