Happy New Year!

It is hard to believe that it is already 2010! I feel like the last six months have blown by and I am still hanging on trying to get things done in June! But since it is time for us to look forward, I wanted to stop and think back to what the year 2009 held for our family.

January - I was only a few weeks into my new job.

February - We sent our dossier for the adoption off on the 13th and got a new puppy on the same day. Dudley has been a fun addition to our family and Dekker loves (and hates) having a little brother. Also, at the end of the month, we rode our first Amtrak to Fort Worth for my hubby to compete in the Cowtown half marathon and to blow his previous 1/2 time out of the water! It was a fun weekend!

March - We received news that we finally had an official Log-In Date in China for the adoption of 3/3/2009. We also bought a new to us, but used, Tahoe to start preparing for kids!

April - We celebrated four wonderful years of marriage!

May - We took in a Ranger's game on Memorial Day with lots of friends and my hubby celebrated his 36th birthday with a new to us, but used, 2003 Harley V-Rod. It will be his birthday present for years to come!!

June - We took our third trip with Visiting Orphans to China, but the swine flu kept us out of Fushun. We spent 12 days with the beautiful children at Shepherd's Field Children's Village and met some incredible new friends in the process.

July - We braved our first family reunion together since the year we were married and survived. It was a great 4th of July weekend. Plus, we gained three new cousins on the 2nd and love having Jane, Sydni, and Jaymi in our family.

August - We celebrated my birthday at the beginning of the month by taking a weekend trip to the Dallas area and meeting up with a friend from our mission trips. We celebrated big time on the 19th when we found out that we are pregnant for the first time! We also hit a Dallas Cowboys game at the end of the month.

September - Our first doctor's appointment was on the 1st and we started telling our families. We gained another two cousins, Angela and Carmen, on the 5th and celebrated with a big family wedding. We also had our first sonogram to see Baby P-Body.

October - We completed our first update for our adoption home study this month...probably the first update of many. Also, my hubby went dove hunting for the first time with a group of friends and had a great time. I see this being an annual event!

November - Daddy (my hubby), starting preparing for deer season and then hunted all the time. We are glad that January is here and he is back home with us instead of in the woods. We also had our sneak peek sonogram and our doctor told us that he was pretty sure that P-Body was a girl.

December - On the 7th, we found out for sure that P-Body is a girl, Genevieve Kennedy. We celebrated Christmas was all sides of the family including a BIG "F" family Christmas that was full of four girls that made the holidays worth it. We are used to not having any kiddos and then we added Kaitlyn a couple of years ago, but with the addition of three more, Christmas was lively to say the least! Next year, Genna will join in! We also decided that I would take my old job back at the university I worked at and are excited to see what 2010 holds for us...besides diapers and a wonderful bundle of joy.

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to keep you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

Happy 2010!
